Tomato Bharta Recipe

Ingredients For Roasting
6 NOS of tomatoes
As needed mustard oil
4-5 NOS green chili
20-25 garlic gloves
A handful coriander stalks
Very little water (for grinding)
Tempering
2 Tablespoon mustard oil
1 Tablespoon cumin seed
1 Tablespoon mustard seed
10 NOS curry leaves
2 Large chopped onion
1/2 Tablespoon turmeric powder
1 Tablespoon kashmiri red chili powder
Salt to taste
A pinch black salt
A pinch sugar
A pinch garam masala
As needed fresh green coriander chopped
Step:1
Set a papad jali over medium high flame , place the tomato and brush some mustard oil on them roast the tomato over direct flame until they get fully charred and soft
Step:2
Then place them in a bowl , cover and let them rest for a couple of minutes

Meanwhile , set a pan over high flame and let it get hot , then add the green chilies , coriander and garlic steam , stir and dry roast all the ingredients for 4-5 minutes until they get charred slightly , then transfer them into a bowl and let them cool down

Then cut the tops of the green chili and add all the ingredients into a small mixer jar , add very little water and grind it into a thick , coarse paste

Then peel the tomatoes and chop them up roughly do not mash them completely , just mince them using a knife , keep them coarse

For the tempering , set a kadhai over high flame and add mustard oil , heat the mustard oil until it starts smoking , then switch off or lower the flame and let it cool down slightly

Then add cumin seed , mustard seed , curry leaves , prepared paste and onion , stir well and cool over high flame until the onion turn soft

Then lower the flame and add turmeric powder and kashmiri red chili powder , stir immediately and then add the tomato along with salt , black salt , sugar , stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes

Lastly taste and adjust salt if needed and add garam masala and fresh coriander

Your delicious , quick and super easy tomato bharta is ready . Serve it hot with some bhakri or roti and rice
