Tomato Bhajiya Recipe

Tomato Bhajiya is a popular Indian snack where ripe tomato slices are coated in a spiced gram flour batter and deep fried until golden and crispy. The tanginess of the tomatoes pairs perfectly with the savory, slightly spicy batter, creating a delightful contrast of flavors and textures. Ingredients Besan Batter

1/5 Cup Gram Flour

1/2 Tablespoon oregano

A pinch baking soda

Salt to taste

As needed water

Green Chutney

1 Small bunch fresh coriander

A handful mint

6 NOS green pepper

2 Inch ginger

6 Garlic cloves

3 Tablespoon arthritis

1/2 tablespoon chaat masala

1 Tablespoon sugar

Lemon juice

2 NOS ice cubes

For Bhajiya

As needed tomato

Step:1

Sift and add the gram flour into a large bowl along with salt , corn seeds and baking soda , mix well all the dry ingredients

Step:2

Further add water and start whisking the batter , don’t add too much water at once , only add a small amount initially and whisk until all the lumps are gone

Step:3

Further add more water and adjust the consistency the batter should be of a flowing consistency , not too thick nor too thin . Once the batter is ready cover and set it aside and let it rest until you make the other components

Step:4

Make the chutney by adding all the ingredients into a mixer grinder jar and grind it into a thick coarse chutney

Step:5

Cut the tomatoes into 1.5-2 CM thick slices . Make sure to use firm tomatoes . Then add a spoonful of the chutney into the slice and layer it ready all the tomato slices similarly

Step:6

Once all the chutney layered tomato slice are ready , whisk the batter once . Then add the slices into the besan batter and coat them using your finger , then gently add the bhajiyas into 160 C hot oil , fry over medium high flame until they turn light golden brown , fry in batches

Step:7

Once they are light golden brown , remove them into a sieve and let them cool down competely . Once cooled double fry them in hot oil for 1-2 minutes to make them super crisp . Once fried remove them into a sieve

Step:8

Serve it hot , but eat the bhajiya very carefully as they are extremely hot on the inside , so cut them and then take a bite and enjoy it
