Haryali Tawa Pulao Recipe

Hariyali Tawa Pulao is a vibrant and aromatic rice dish where cooked basmati rice is stir-fried on a tawa griddle with a fresh green herb blend of mint, cilantro, and spinach, along with assorted vegetables and spices. Ingredients For Rice

1 Cup sella basmati rice

A large pinch salt

1/4 Tablespoon turmeric powder

Spinach Paste

1 Small Spinach leaves

A pinch salt

A handful green coriander

10-13 Mint leaves

2 Inch ginger

10-13 Garlic cloves

2 NOS green chili

Taw Pulao

2 Tablespoon butter

1 Tablespoon oil

A large pinch cumin seeds

1 Medium size onion

1 Small size tomato sliced

1 Capsicum

Medium size cabbage

1/3 Cup boiled peas

1 NOS boiled and diced potato

2 Tablespoon pav bhaji masala

1/4 Tablespoon turmeric powder

1 Tablespoon coriander powder

Salt to taste

A pinch sugar

Hot water a splash

A pinch kasuri methi

2 Tablespoon lemon juice

A handful fresh coriander chopped

A pinch garam masala

Step:1

Wash the basmati rice 3-4 times until the added water turns clean and soak it for 30-45 minutes . Add water into a large stock pot and bring it to a rolling boil and add the salt and turmeric powder

Step:2

Further drain out the water from the soaked rice and add the rice into stockpot , stir it gently and cook until they are almost cooked

Step:3

To check the rice just take out and bite into a few grains . they should be cooked but still have a slight bite , strain the rice out using a large spider or a sieve and transfer it into a large sieve or a plate

Step:4

After you have transferred all the rice , fluff it up using a fork so that all the excess steam escapes and the carry forward cooking stops . Let the rice rest and cool down completely . Meanwhile you can do the other prep

Step:5

Blanch the spinach in hot water for 15-20 seconds then transfer it into ice cold water , Add the blanched spinach into a mixer jar along with the remaining ingredients of the paste and blend it into a fine paste

Step:6

Set a tawa or any flat bottomed vessel over high flame and let it get hot . Add butter and oil , let it heat up and then add cumin seeds and onion , stir well and cook the onion over high flame until they turn slightly light golden brown

Step:7

Then add all the remaining veggies , stir well and cook for 1-2 minute . Add the spinach pate along with all the powdered spices , salt and sugar , add a splash of hot water and cook all the ingredients for 3-4 minutes

Step:8

Then add the cooled down rice , along with kasuri methi , lemon juice , garam masala and fresh coriander , stir well . Your delicious hariyali tawa pulao is ready , serve it hot with some raita and enjoy it
